Salameh to Paris for Emergency Heritage Talks, Urges Flexibility to Secure Ceasefire

Beirut: Culture Minister, Ghassan Salameh, on Wednesday announced, following talks with President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, his intention to travel to Paris to attend an extraordinary UNESCO Heritage Committee meeting focused on safeguarding Lebanon's endangered archaeological sites amid the war.

According to National Nws Aency - Lebanon, Salameh emphasized Lebanon's participation in the Byblos exhibition at the Arab World Institute as a strategic move to highlight the country's urgent needs for diplomatic and humanitarian support. This exhibition is expected to draw international attention to the plight of Lebanon's rich cultural heritage sites, which are under threat due to ongoing conflicts.

Salameh has urged for a flexible approach to facilitate a ceasefire, pointing out that the presidential initiative remains adaptable. Despite Israel's current lack of acceptance, Salameh remains optimistic about finding a diplomatic solution that will help protect Lebanon's cultural legacy and ensure regional stability.
