Qobayat:A Mass service organized by the Lebanese Forces Akkar branch took place at Our Lady's Church in Qobayat to honor the martyrs of the Lebanese Resistance and emphasize their importance in Lebanon's national memory.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea addressed the service via video, underscoring the significance of the martyrs' sacrifices. He stated that their ultimate goal was to help Lebanon achieve a free, sovereign, and independent status.

Geagea emphasized the need to continue the struggle through peaceful means to realize the vision of a "dream homeland" and stressed the responsibility of the state in safeguarding its citizens. He warned that Lebanon's future is at risk if the state fails in this role, particularly highlighting the issue of Hezbollah's weapons as a barrier to a dignified life.

On another note, Geagea addressed the general amnesty law, expressing that many in Lebanon had faced injustice due to their support for the Syrian uprising. He reiterated his party's backing for the law to address these injustices.

Speaking to the residents of Akkar, Geagea acknowledged the region's deprivation of opportunities and promised future compensation and development. He called for Akkar to receive greater focus within Lebanon's national and developmental strategies.

Additionally, he reminded Lebanese Forces supporters of the restrictions faced during the Syrian regime's presence in Lebanon, where such commemorative events were prohibited.
