Head of the Media and Telecom House committee, MP Hussein Hajj Hassan, on Thursday revealed that there had been political interventions in the past to allow certain companies to operate Lebanon’s mobile phone services.
“There had been political interference by some ministers in the past to annul some tenders and then give them to certain companies,” the Minister told a press conference held today at the Parliament.
“We have started the study of the capital and operating expenses, which amount to USD 222 million,” he indicated.
“We have also requested a feasibility study for all the tenders that took place in 2018,” he said.
