Syrian Foreign Minister, Mossad Chief Face to Face Following Abu al-Duhur Bombing

Damascus: Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani met with Mossad chief Roman Gofman in an attempt to contain escalating tensions between Damascus and Tel Aviv.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the meeting was reported by Axios on Sunday and was aimed at addressing the growing friction between the two countries. The tensions were exacerbated after a recent Israeli airstrike targeted the Abu al-Duhur airbase in northern Syria. The airstrike has been a focal point in the ongoing conflict, heightening an already volatile situation in the region.

The meeting between the Syrian Foreign Minister and the Mossad chief is seen as a critical diplomatic engagement, reflecting the urgent need for dialogue in light of the recent escalation. Two informed sources quoted by Sky News Arabia emphasized that the discussions were crucial for managing the aftermath of the airstrike and preventing further deterioration of bilateral relations.
