Tunisian President Kais Saied renewed his country’s firm position to resolve the crisis in Libya according to an approach based on the unity of the country and the rejection of foreign interference in its internal affairs.

This came during a meeting today, Wednesday, at the Carthage Palace, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Naglaa al-Mangoush, and the Minister of Communications, Mohamed Chahoubi, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.

Saied also stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen the year of consultation and coordination between the two countries in all fields, especially the economy, investment, energy and security sectors, according to the statement.

The Tunisian President stressed the need to intensify efforts to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples towards further integration by overcoming all the difficulties that prevent this and bypassing some artificial problems aimed at disturbing the brotherly relations and cooperation between Tunisia and Libya, as well as raising the current challenges and strengthening the coordination of meetings at all levels, Implementing and diversifying bilateral agreements, based on the firm will and sincere intentions of the two countries and their firm belief in the common future and the unity of destiny, according to the statement.

The statement added that the meeting touched on several bilateral files and regional and international issues of common concern.
