TOURISM MINISTER’S PRESS OFFICE: WE KEPT PACE WITH THE “MAYYAS” BAND, RESPECTED THEIR DESIRE NOT TO ORGANIZE ANY OFFICIAL RECEPTION

Caretaker Tourism Minister Walid Nassar’s press office affirmed, Saturday, in response to recent articles on social media, that “Minister Nassar worked from the first moment of the participation of the Lebanese band “Mayyas” in the America’s Got Talent international competition, to keep pace with it until it reached its remarkable victory, raising Lebanon’s name high in the entire world.”

The statement explained that the Tourism Minister was not at Beirut International Airport to receive the band after its return from abroad came at the request of the band’s leader, Nadim Cherfan, with the aim of keeping it away from any political image.

However, it confirmed that keeping pace with the band, moment by moment, was clear to all the Lebanese and international public opinion through various social media websites and the Ministry’s accounts. Additionally, it indicated that the Tourism Ministry has initiated preparations for a ceremony in honor of the band and in appreciation of its great victory.

The statement concluded by urging social media websites “to maintain the positivity of this event and remakabke achievement, and shed light on the joy of Lebanon and the Lebanese instead of exploiting it for well-known goals that are useless.”
