Ankara: Turkiye and Kazakhstan signed 20 joint agreements in various fields on Tuesday in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kazakh President Johmurt Tokayev. The signing ceremony followed bilateral talks between the two leaders, which were held during the fifth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council in the Turkish capital.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the agreements encompassed a wide range of sectors, solidifying the partnership between the two nations. Key documents included a resolution and a joint statement from the fifth meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. These agreements are expected to enhance cooperation and foster mutual growth.

A statement of intent for collaboration in free/special economic zones was signed between the Turkish Ministry of Trade and the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Construction. Additionally, a memorandum of understanding on artificial intelligence, innovation, and space activities was established between the Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Space Industries.

Other significant agreements included a protocol for scientific and technological cooperation, a memorandum of understanding between the drug and medical supplies control institutions in both countries, and cooperation between health institutes. In education, the Turkish Maarif Foundation and Kazakhstan’s National Education Academy agreed to launch joint educational activities.

Further, the agreements covered cooperation in the energy and mining sectors, urban planning, and the judicial field. A technical agreement for collaboration within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was also part of the signed documents, emphasizing the broad scope of the partnership.
