Beirut: UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti has refuted reports suggesting that UNIFIL peacekeepers asked residents of Aita al-Shaab and other villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes. Tenenti emphasized that these claims are both untrue and baseless.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Tenenti affirmed, “UNIFIL continues to work in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces as they re-deploy across south Lebanon.” This statement underscores UNIFIL’s ongoing commitment to collaborate with local forces to maintain stability in the region without necessitating civilian evacuations.
