US Military Aircraft, Reconnaissance Drone Spotted Near Iranian Airspace

Beirut: A U.S. Air Force Boeing P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft was spotted operating near Iranian airspace, according to a source in air traffic monitoring circles cited by Russia’s TASS news agency. The source said the aircraft was observed flying over the Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman near Iranian airspace at an altitude of slightly over 6,000 meters. The source also noted that a U.S. Air Force Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drone had been detected in the same areas in recent days.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the drone complements the mission of the Boeing P-8 Poseidon. The MQ-4C Triton drone is capable of monitoring vast land and maritime areas and conducts reconnaissance missions lasting between 10 and 15 hours per day. These movements come amid international anticipation of a possible U.S. military strike against Iran, following repeated threats by U.S. President Donald Trump.
