World Health Organization officials have slated Beijing for apparently inaccurately reporting the number of Covid cases in the country, accusing the official definition of what constitutes a Covid death.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus claimed he was worried about the “risk to life in China” reiterating the “importance of vaccination…to protect against hospitalization and death.”

China only records those Covid patients who died from respiratory failure as Covid deaths in official data, but insisted Thursday it has always shared information “in a timely, open and transparent manner”
