According to a JCDC statement on Sunday, the forum, in its second edition, went over procedures and policies implemented in the various Mediterranean countries to monitor spread of novel infectious diseases. The forum also discussed the participating countries&#8217; cooperation to stimulate joint action to protect public health in such a complex field. The participants said models and systems used in monitoring and tracking diseases and implemented within each country would help identify scenarios to organize future healthcare for infectious diseases in the Mediterranean region, in an integrated manner, would lead to raise efficiency of these service providers and exchange expertise in this field. The participants, including the JCDC delegation, recommended need to create a Mediterranean network concerned with monitoring, following up and analyzing spread of diseases that could threaten the region&#8217;s population lives, the statement said.
