NNA – The Ministry of Agriculture announced in a statement today that a team at the Agricultural Quarantine Center in Tripoli’s Port has seized a ship loaded with rotten rice coming from China, containing high proportions of molds and residues of toxic pesticides.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The statement added that the vessel, carrying 31 thousand tons of rotten rice, was banned from unloading its cargo.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In this connection, the Ministry assured the Lebanese of its “role in strictly controlling all border crossings, in the interest of citizens’ health and food safety.”<\/p>\n
