Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, met this afternoon with Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Simon Coveney, in the presence of Irish Ambassador accredited to Lebanon and residing in Egypt, Sean O\u2019Regan, and the accompanying delegation.<\/P>
<\/P>
Attending on the Lebanese side were also the Foreign Ministry\u2019s Director of Political Affairs, Ambassador Ghadi Khoury, and the Director of Protocol, Counselor Abeer Ali, with talks centering on the internal situation in Lebanon and the economic difficulties it is facing.<\/P>
<\/P>
Bou Habib seized the opportunity to thank Ireland for the role it played in the issue of renewing UNIFIL\u2019s peacekeeping forces and supporting the army in south Lebanon.<\/P>
<\/P>
The Irish Minister, in turn, briefed Bou Habib on his country’s experience with the International Monetary Fund, offering to help Lebanon in this field in light of Ireland\u2019s successful experience as a result of the speed it adopted in carrying out reforms, which allowed it \u201cto get out of its crisis in a period of 4 years to become one of the most developed countries in Europe during the last ten years.\u201d<\/P>
