Iraq is currently under a dust storm which is the sixth in a month, resulting in the closure of Baghdad and Najaf international airports, in an increasingly recurring phenomenon, according to AFP.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Clouds of yellow dust covered most of southern Iraq, including the capital, Baghdad, and is expected to continue until Monday, according to the Meteorological Department.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“Flights to Baghdad and Najaf airports have been suspended due to the dust storm,” said Jihad Al-Diwan, director of relations at the Civil Aviation Authority. He added, “The movement of incoming and outgoing planes will return to normal if the weather conditions improve.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
