The Board of Directors of the Association of Banks in Lebanon held a meeting on August 4, 2022, during which it discussed the \u201cmalicious lawsuits against banks, in which some arbitrary and populist rulings are being issued for purposes that are no longer hidden from anyone.\u201d<\/P>

\u201cThese abnormal situations, which banks have been trying to deal with flexibly, even at their own expense, have reached an extent that is no longer acceptable. Banks can no longer bear harmful and populist situations at their expense and at the expense of the economy, and they find themselves compelled to issue a general warning that is an invitation to everyone to deal seriously and responsibly with the current situation for the sake of moving towards real recovery,\u201d a statement by the ABL said.<\/P>
<\/P>
\u201cBanks operating across Lebanon announce an open strike starting as of Monday, August 8, 2022, provided that a general assembly meeting will be held on August 10 to decide on the position it deems appropriate in this regard,\u201d the statement added.<\/P>
