However, the coming change of administration in the Israeli-occupied territories leaves future policy under question. Benjamin Netanyahu, who is expected to form the next Israeli cabinet, has been known for his good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Bloomberg report follows remarks made by former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev last month, who said Israel would \u201cdestroy\u201d all ties with Moscow if Tel Aviv insists on the \u201cvery reckless move\u201d of supplying Ukraine with weapons.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Israeli regime\u2019s diaspora affairs minister Nachman Shai said on October 17 that the \u201ctime has come for Ukraine to receive military aid\u201d from Israel after repeating the accusation that Iran was sending weapons to Russia, despite the firm rejection of such an allegation by Tehran.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cIsrael seems to be going to supply weapons to the Kyiv regime; a very reckless move. It will destroy all interstate relations between\u201d Moscow and Tel Aviv, Medvedev, currently serving as deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, later wrote in a Telegram post in response, saying that Ukraine is praising \u201cNazi\u201d heroes.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
\u201cIf they are supplied with weapons then it is time for Israel to declare [Stepan] Bandera and [Roman] Shukhevych their heroes,\u201d the senior Russian politician added, referring to Ukraine\u2019s nationalist leaders of the 1940s and 1950s.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Ukraine\u2019s President Volodymyr Zelensky told Channel 12\u2019s \u201cUvda\u201d on Tuesday that Israel recently agreed to provide his country with radio systems it had requested in February.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
On Sunday, Ukraine\u2019s Ambassador to Israel Yevgen Korniychuk also said there had been progress \u201con some technical issues\u201d related to military cooperation between Kyiv and Tel Aviv, particularly regarding Israel\u2019s offer to provide missile alert technology.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Back in April, then-Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid accused Russia of committing war crimes in Ukraine. Moscow hit back, accusing the regime of using Ukraine to \u201cdistract\u201d global attention from its aggression against the Palestinians.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Ukraine has been the subject of a Russian military operation since February 24, with Moscow saying that the operation is aimed at \u201cdemilitarizing\u201d the eastern Ukrainian region of Donbas.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Ordering the operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin also said the mission was aimed at \u201cdefending people who for eight years were suffering persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Back in 2014, the neighboring regions of Donetsk and Luhansk \u2014 which together form the Donbas \u2014 declared themselves independent republics, refusing to recognize Ukraine\u2019s Western-backed government. The declaration of independence was ensued by a conflict between the region\u2019s pro-Russian forces and the Ukrainian military.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
