Sweden, which holds the current European Union Presidency, Saturday hosts the second EU-Indo-Pacific Forum aiming to strengthen partnership between the EU and the Indo-Pacific region, Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom said.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“We are looking very much forward to host the EU-Indo pacific Ministerial forum in Stockholm. Together we have the possibility to have a strong impact when it comes to free trade, when it comes to climate change, when it comes to security,” he told reporters ahead of the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“We have now a strong momentum in relationship between the Indo-Pacific and the EU and this is something to build on,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Stockholm Forum will bring EU Foreign Ministers, Foreign Ministers from the Indo-Pacific region, representatives of EU institutions and representatives of a number of regional organisations and other partners.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The one-day meeting will be co-chaired by EU High Representative Josep Borrell and Billstrom.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The meeting will discuss common challenges with respect to security, trade, global value chains, digitalisation, the green transition and energy security.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The First Indo-pacific Forum was held in February 2022, in Paris, under the then French EU Presidency.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
