The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security announced the arrest of a drug dealer and another suspect who carried out many robbery operations in Baghdad.

A statement by the directorate said, “The detachments of Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense arrested a drug dealer in Al-Shaab area of Baghdad, against whom an arrest warrant was issued by the Rusafa Central Court, and seized various narcotic pills in his possession.

The statement added, “The directorate’s detachments, with careful intelligence efforts, were able to arrest one of the suspects in car theft operations, as he carried out several thefts in separate areas of the capital through the threat of firearms,” noting that “the arrest came through an ambush that carried out by the detachments above are in Al-Madaen area of Baghdad.”
