Acting Army Commander Meets UN Special Coordinator

Beirut: Acting Army Commander, Major General Hassan Audeh, on Thursday met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, at his office in Yarzeh: Discussions focused on the general situation in Lebanon and regional developments.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting served as a platform to discuss the prevailing circumstances within Lebanon, alongside pivotal regional developments. Both parties exchanged views on ensuring stability and security in the region, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between Lebanese authorities and the United Nations.

The UN Special Coordinator, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, reiterated the UN’s commitment to supporting Lebanon in addressing its challenges. She highlighted the role of the UN in facilitating dialogue and fostering peace within the region. Major General Hassan Audeh expressed gratitude for the UN’s ongoing support and underscored the Lebanese Army’s commitment to maintaining peace and security.
