Adwan: Parliament’s Oversight Role Cannot Continue as Is

Beirut: MP George Adwan on Thursday stated that the current role of Parliament in legislation and oversight is "no longer acceptable," criticizing its absence during recent crises. According to National Nws Aency - Lebanon, Adwan, speaking from Parliament, attributed the country's challenges to decisions that led Lebanon into war. He emphasized the necessity for accountability and expressed the importance of questioning ministers who do not comply with government decisions. Adwan further indicated that his bloc intends to participate in upcoming sessions, with a commitment to demanding full accountability once the war concludes. He cautioned that persistent legal violations might lead to a more extensive political reassessment.
