Acting President of Al al-Bayt University, Prof. Bassam Al Mahasneh, on Monday received Ambassador of Spain to Jordan, Miguel de Lucas. The meeting covered ways to enhance cooperation between the university, located in Mafraq governorate, eastern Jordan, and the Spanish Embassy in Amman. Al Mahasneh highlighted the university’s programs, its qualitative majors, its aspirations and future plans that aim to attract students from around the world. He voiced the university’s readiness to bolster all means of cooperation with universities in Spain through specialized exchange programs for students and faculty members, in order to provide the two parties with the necessary expertise, and consolidate this cooperation through the signing more agreements and memorandums of understanding, to serve the two parties in the future. Ambassador De Lucas commended the historical and solid relations with Jordan, and lauded the Al al-Bayt University’s distinguished and qualitative programs, especially in foreign and modern languages, indicating that this visit represents a start point to enhance scientific and academic cooperation between Al al Bayt University and Spanish universities in the future. The meeting was attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Mohammad Al-Harahsheh, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Prof. Mohammad Al-Khatib, Assistant to the President for International Relations, Dr. Mohammad Al-Shara, Head of the Spanish Language Department, Dr. Ali Oweidat, and Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Nasser Al-Shabil.
