Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday met with Kamal Hayek, Chairman and Director General of Electricit© du Liban (EDL). Hayek provided an update on the institution’s current operations and the ongoing repair works in southern towns, villages, and Beirut’s southern suburbs. The discussions also included efforts to remove illegal network connections and future projects aimed at strengthening Lebanon’s power sector in collaboration with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun also received Sheikh Ali Mahmoud Kadour, Head of the Islamic Alawite Council in Lebanon. The meeting focused on the community’s affairs and explored ways to enhance its representation and access to public sector positions within state administrations and institutions.
