Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday engaged in discussions with the Syrian charg© d’affaires in Lebanon, Iyad al-Hazzaa, focusing on the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Syria across multiple sectors. The meeting, held at the Baabda Palace, underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two neighboring countries.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun also met with Member of Parliament Dr. Haidar Nasser. Following their meeting, MP Nasser expressed his continued support for the Lebanese state and emphasized the rejection of any potential internal conflicts. He highlighted the need for national unity, irrespective of differing opinions on negotiation approaches, to secure a ceasefire and rebuild the state. Nasser reiterated the importance of supporting Lebanese initiatives aimed at ending hostilities and advancing state-building, aligning with the president’s inaugural address.
