Aoun, Interior Minister Review Security Measures and South Lebanon Recovery Efforts

Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday met Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Hajjar to review the security situation across the country, measures aimed at preserving stability, and plans to strengthen security arrangements in various regions, particularly in Beirut.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hajjar briefed the president on the efforts of the security agencies to combat drug trafficking, including operations to dismantle smuggling networks and measures to tighten border controls and enhance surveillance.

The meeting also covered recovery and return measures being implemented by agencies under the Interior Ministry, in coordination with municipalities in southern Lebanon, to facilitate the return of displaced residents to their villages while maintaining public order and ensuring a safe and orderly return process.
