Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Thursday met with Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi to review progress on key energy-sector projects. The discussions focused on the current status of the planned electrical interconnection between Lebanon and Cyprus, a project aimed at strengthening regional energy cooperation and enhancing Lebanon's electricity supply options.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting also addressed the importance of reactivating oil transport links between Iraq and Lebanon, as part of broader efforts to bolster energy security and diversify sources of supply. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in ensuring a stable and varied energy supply for Lebanon, potentially reducing its dependence on a limited number of sources and improving the country's overall energy resilience.
