Cairo: The Council of the League of Arab States, at the level of permanent representatives, strongly condemned Israel's recognition of the secession of Somalia's northwestern region, known as "Somaliland," during an extraordinary session held on Sunday.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the council affirmed the Arab states' full solidarity with the Federal Republic of Somalia, considering the move an infringement on its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
