Beirut: Lebanese Army Commander, General Rodolphe Haykal, and the head of the Cessation of Hostilities Mechanism Committee, US General Joseph Clearfield, held an extraordinary meeting at Beirut Air Base on Saturday.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting, which followed a brief visit by General Clearfield, addressed the security situation in Lebanon, regional developments, and ways to maximize the effectiveness of the mechanism and enhance its operations.

Discussions also touched on the Lebanese Army’s important role and the need to support it during the current phase.

General Clearfield then departed Lebanon’s territory at the meeting’s end.
