Kharayeb-baalbek: The Lebanese Army Guidance Directorate reported a significant security incident involving Israeli military forces along the Lebanon-Syria border near Kharayeb-Baalbek. On the night of March 6-7, 2026, at 22:50, Lebanese Army units detected four hostile Israeli helicopters in the area, which resulted in a tense confrontation.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, two of these helicopters landed enemy forces in the vicinity while nearby villages were subjected to intense airstrikes. In response, the Lebanese Army swiftly implemented alert and defense measures, including the deployment of flares to illuminate the landing site. However, the hostile forces managed to withdraw from view promptly.

The operation was marked by enemy shelling and sweeping activities, followed by an exchange of fire between the intruding forces and local residents as they advanced towards Nabi Sheet. The clashes persisted until approximately 03:00, leading to casualties.

The incident resulted in the deaths of three soldiers and several civilians due to the heavy enemy bombardment. Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the event.
