Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri received a phone call this afternoon from Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, with talks touching on developments in Lebanon and the region.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Egyptian foreign minister reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to stability in Lebanon. He stressed that priority must be given to a full Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon and the deployment of the Lebanese Army, emphasizing that complete Israeli withdrawal is the key to stability in the country.

For his part, Berri reiterated the importance of avoiding internal strife in Lebanon and continuing efforts to preserve national stability and civil peace.
