Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri condemned the attack on a UNIFIL-French contingent patrol in southern Lebanon. He praised the sacrifices made by UNIFIL forces over the years, with particular emphasis on the contributions of the French battalion.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the fallen soldier and the families of his colleagues. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers. In light of the incident, Berri contacted UNIFIL Commander-in-Chief, Major General Diodato Abagnara, to offer his condolences and check on the health condition of the injured soldiers.
