Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Monday sent a cable to Dr. Abdul Hamid Akil Al-Awak, congratulating him on his election as Speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri conveyed, on behalf of the Lebanese Parliament, his warmest congratulations to Al-Awak. He expressed his wishes for Al-Awak's success in fulfilling his legislative responsibilities and hoped for Syria's continued security, progress, and stability.
