Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri engaged in a series of diplomatic discussions at the second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh. He met with Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi and an accompanying delegation, alongside the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani. Their discussion focused on Lebanon’s situation, regional political developments, the reconstruction file, and bilateral relations between Lebanon and Iran.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister Araghchi expressed satisfaction with the meetings held with key Lebanese officials, including the President and the Foreign Affairs Minister. He emphasized the historically strong relations between Iran and Lebanon and reiterated Iran’s commitment to continuing these relations under current circumstances. Araghchi highlighted Iran’s support for Lebanon’s independence and territorial integrity, as well as its willingness to engage in economic and political cooperation.

Minister Araghchi condemned the occupation of Lebanese territories by the Zionist entity and supported Lebanon’s efforts to reclaim these areas. On reconstruction, he mentioned Iranian companies’ readiness to participate and emphasized support for Lebanon’s national dialogue and unity, insisting that such matters are solely for the Lebanese to decide.

In a separate meeting, Speaker Berri welcomed a delegation from the International Monetary Fund, led by Mission Chief Ernesto Ramirez Rigo. The discussions revolved around Lebanon’s financial and economic conditions and the IMF’s work in the country.

Additionally, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, marking the continued diplomatic engagements and exchanges amid Lebanon’s unfolding events.
