Berri Engages Spanish Ambassador and Local Officials on Key Issues

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday welcomed Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Miguel de Lucas Gonz¡lez, as part of a protocol visit signifying the commencement of Gonz¡lez's diplomatic mission in Lebanon. The discussions between the two officials centered on the Lebanese-Spanish bilateral relations and current regional developments.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri also conferred with Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine on the ramifications of ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, with a focus on the regions in the south and western Bekaa. The talks emphasized the assaults' impact on the healthcare system, hospital operations, and emergency response initiatives. Minister Nassereddine provided an update on the ministry's active programs and strategic priorities.

In a separate meeting, Berri engaged with MP Jihad al-Samad, chairman of the parliamentary Defence, Interior, and Municipalities Committee, to deliberate on political and security developments, legislative concerns, and the issue of displaced persons. Also visiting Ain Al-Tineh was former Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Zeina Akar.
