Berri: House Speaker Nabih Berri issued a statement this evening, expressing solidarity with the residents of Tripoli following the building collapse in Bab al-Tabbaneh area, offering condolences to the families of the victims and the injured.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Speaker called on all relevant authorities and ministries to treat the restoration and reinforcement of structurally unsafe buildings in Tripoli as a "national priority", stressing that "further delay is unacceptable."

He said: "We call upon all relevant authorities and ministries to consider the issue of restoring and reinforcing unsafe buildings in Tripoli as a national issue par excellence. It is no longer permissible to delay addressing it under any circumstances whatsoever, in terms of reinforcement, restoration, securing housing and compensation for affected families as quickly as possible."

Berri also urged swift action to provide shelter and compensation to affected families and instructed Civil Defense teams from the Islamic Al-Rissala Scouts to mobilize all relief and volunteer resources to support residents who lost their homes.
