Berri Meets Iraqi Delegation, Reviews Reconstruction Support and Legislative Priorities

Beirut: Speaker of the House, Nabih Berri, on Wednesday, welcomed an Iraqi delegation headed by the special envoy of the Iraqi prime minister, Ihsan Al-Awadi. The delegation included Iraqi Prime Minister's adviser Dr. Zidan Khalaf and Acting Charg© d'Affaires at the Iraqi Embassy in Beirut Nada Al-Majoul, in the presence of MP Qabalan Qabalan and Director General of General Security Major General Hassan Shqeir.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, talks reportedly addressed developments in Lebanon and the region, bilateral relations between the two countries, and Iraq's readiness to assist in reconstruction. Speaker Berri conveyed the gratitude of the Lebanese people to Iraq, government and people, for its continued support, particularly its willingness to contribute to rebuilding areas damaged by ongoing Israeli aggression.

Separately, Berri met MP Ibrahim Kanaan, head of the Parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee, with discussions focusing on political developments, legislative affairs, and progress in budget deliberations, expressing hope that discussions would conclude in January ahead of constitutional deadlines.

Berri also extended Christmas greetings to all Lebanese, particularly Christians, calling for unity, love, and hope, and stressing that cohesion remains the path to saving and protecting Lebanon.
