BERRI MEETS POPULAR DELEGATIONS FROM SEVERAL SOUTHERN TOWNS, CABLES CONDOLENCES ON UAE PRESIDENT SHEIKH ZAYED’S PASSING

House Speaker, Nabih Berri, received at his Msaileh residence former Public Health Minister, Dr. Mohammed Jawad Khalifeh, with discussions touching on the current general situation and the latest developments, including the parliamentary elections.

Speaker Berri also received several popular delegations from the southern towns of Qana, Sreefa, Kfarhatta, Kfarmelki, Kfardounin, Mafadoun, and Upper Nabatieh.

Speaking in front of the visiting popular delegations, Speaker Berri indicated that “May 15 parliamentary election is the most dangerous in Lebanon’s contemporary history, and also the most important since the Taif accord.”

Berri called on the Lebanese electorates, especially the people of the south, to turn the May 15th electoral parliamentary deadline into a referendum day on the national constants, especially the principles of unity and national coexistence.

On the other hand, Berri cabled condolences to the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, over the passing of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In the same framework, Speaker Berri cabled condolences to the UAE Federal National Council’s Speaker, Saqr Ghobash.
