House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Thursday received at the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh, the Director General of State Security, Major General Tony Saliba, in the presence of Maj. Gen. Saliba’s Deputy Brigadier General Hassan Choucair.

Speaker Berri later received the head of the Maronite League, Ambassador Khalil Karam, at the head of a delegation of the League’s newly elected Executive Council members.

On emerging, Karam said they held with the Speaker a tour d’horizon bearing on the country’s current general situation.

Berri separately met with the President of the Lebanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ivory Coast, Dr. Joseph Khoury.
