Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday received Minister of Information, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. The discussion reportedly touched on the general situation, the latest political developments, and media affairs.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, upon emerging from the meeting, Minister Morcos stated, "We discussed the general developments, with a particular focus on the media and its role in maintaining social stability during this difficult phase that Lebanon is going through, while upholding the guaranteed freedoms of opinion, expression, and press."
Morcos further elaborated, "We also touched on a number of media-related draft laws and proposals. As I stated in my TV interview on Lebanon's national channel, TL, the day before yesterday, we have full confidence in the Speaker of Parliament to consider these essential media legislations."
