BOU HABIB CONTINUES MEETINGS IN NEW YORK, MEETS TURKISH COUNTERPART

Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdullah Bou Habib, on Friday pursued his meetings on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77) in New York.

 

In this framework, Minister Bou Habib participated in the ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and delivered Lebanon’s speech at the ministerial meeting over “UNRWA”, in the presence of the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.

 

Bou Habib also met with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, and they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and deliberated on a number of regional files. Minister Cavusoglu also promised to visit Lebanon to sign a protocol for the rehabilitation and restoration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants building in downtown Beirut.

 

On the other hand, Minister Bou Habib and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Jeenbek Kulubaev, signed an agreement on mutual exemption of entry visas for holders of special diplomatic and service passports between the two countries.
