Beirut: President General Joseph Aoun held a phone call before noon with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which they discussed developments in Lebanon and the wider region in light of ongoing tensions.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun expressed Lebanon’s solidarity with the UAE and its people, stressing support during what he described as a sensitive period in the region. He also briefed Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed on the latest developments in the Lebanese-American-Israeli talks currently taking place in Washington.

In response, the UAE President thanked Aoun for his sentiments and reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ consistent support for Lebanon and its people, particularly during critical times. He also expressed backing for Lebanon’s efforts to achieve security and stability and to restore full sovereignty over its territory.
