Canonization of Bishop Maloyan Recognized as a Message of Justice

Vatican city: MP Neemat Frem expressed his thoughts on the X platform, highlighting the significance of the canonization of Bishop Ignatius Maloyan. Frem acknowledged the joyous occasion for the members of the Armenian Catholic Church, celebrating the sainthood of Bishop Maloyan, a figure who demonstrated unwavering faith amidst severe trials in 1915.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Frem emphasized that Bishop Maloyan’s canonization serves as a message of divine justice for those who endured genocide. He noted that this act of sainthood is a papal acknowledgment of the Armenian people’s suffering, who have preserved their faith and carried it to regions such as Lebanon and the Levant.

Bishop Maloyan, a figure deeply connected to the Monastery of Our Lady of Bzommar, is remembered for his refusal to forsake his beliefs even when faced with torture and death. His recognition as a saint marks a significant moment for the Armenian Catholic Church and the broader community that identifies with his legacy and the historical challenges faced by Armenians.
