Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday received Camille Chamoun and a party delegation, who reaffirmed their support for the Lebanese state and its constitutional legitimacy.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Chamoun also expressed support for the official negotiations and efforts to end the war, describing peace as the best option for Lebanon. He reiterated his party's commitment to federalism as a constitutional model within a single state, under one flag and one army.

Separately, President Aoun met Gendarmerie Commander, Jean Aouad, to review the country's security situation and the work of the Internal Security Forces' Gendarmerie across Lebanon.
