Derian Discusses Social Priorities with Minister El-Sayed

Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, on Monday welcomed Minister of Social Affairs, Haneen El-Sayed, at Dar al-Fatwa.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, following the meeting, El-Sayed said discussions focused on key social, economic, and political issues. She affirmed the ministry’s ongoing support for respected institutions, including Dar Al-Aytam, the Mohammad Khaled Social Institutions, and Al-Makassed, emphasizing efforts to strengthen these partnerships.

Moreover, the Minister announced updates to the ‘Aman’ program, which currently serves 800,000 vulnerable Lebanese, including a reassessment phase and reopening of registration. El-Sayed also confirmed that a new model social center will soon open in Beirut’s Tariq El-Jdideh area, offering integrated social and health services.

On the political front, El-Sayyed expressed hope that national consensus would be reached ahead of Friday’s Cabinet session, stressing the importance of extending state authority across all Lebanese territories.

Mufti Derian also received Iraq’s charg© d’affaires Mohammad Reda Al-Husseini, with whom he discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
