Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, contacted this evening Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, Director General of State Security Major General Edgar Lawandos, and Director of Military Intelligence Tony Kahwaji to inquire about the situation in Beirut.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Mufti Derian urged Major General Lawandos to open an immediate investigation into what happened, address the "hasty and unwise" actions, and take all necessary procedural measures against the perpetrators.
