Beirut: Education and Higher Learning Minister, Hassan Diab, sponsored a ceremony on Thursday marking the occasion of Italian Language Day, held at the Unesco Palace in Beirut. The event was attended by the Italian Ambassador, Guiseppe Morabito.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Diab addressed the gathering, highlighting that the Italian Language Day symbolized a cultural partnership and fusion between the Italian and Lebanese communities. This event underscored the shared cultural heritage and mutual understanding fostered through language.

In a separate engagement, Diab met with Margareta Wahlstrom, the Representative of the UN Secretary General for Disaster Risk Reduction, at his office. Their discussions focused on strategies for inspecting schools to ensure their resilience and safety against potential disasters, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding educational institutions.
