Dozens Injured in Wake of 6.0-Magnitude Earthquake in Central Indonesia, With No Tsunami Threat

Sulawesi: At least 29 people were injured, including two in critical condition, after a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sulawesi Island in central Indonesia on Sunday morning, an Indonesian official reported.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, A spokesman for the National Disaster Relief Agency explained that 13 injured people were taken to medical facilities in the Poso and Tokorondo districts of Central Sulawesi province after debris from a damaged place of worship fell on them. He noted that the earthquake damaged a church in the village of Masani, while the final number of displaced people is yet to be determined.

The earthquake struck the city of Poso at 5:38 a.m. (21:38 GMT on Saturday) and was centered at a depth of 10 kilometers. Authorities confirmed there was no threat of a tsunami.
