Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today a high-ranking Russian delegation, during which there was an afirmation of mutual keenness between both sides to continue strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, according to “Russia Today” news agency. The Russian delegation included the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Industry, and the Special Representative of the Russian President, in addition to the Russian Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Vice President of the Russian Central Bank, and Russia’s Ambassador to Cairo. On the Egyptian side, the meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister, and the Ministers of International Cooperation, Finance and Trade and Industry. For his part, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency, stated that the meeting witnessed confirmation of mutual keenness between both sides to continue strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, taking pride in the close bilateral relations and historical friendship between the Egyptian and Russian peoples. The meeting also discussed the Egyptian-Russian economic relations that are supported by the general framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries, which provides various bilateral mechanisms for cooperation, including the joint committee for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, which is currently holding its fourteenth session in Cairo, thus contributing to strengthening economic, investment and trade relations between Egypt and Russia.
