Erdogan Pledges Continued Support for Lebanon, Offers Help with Reconstruction

Beirut: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday said Lebanon would be among the countries to benefit most from greater stability and cooperation in the region, following talks with President Joseph Aoun in Ankara.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Erdogan stated that the two leaders had assessed the forms of assistance Turkey could provide to Lebanon. He emphasized that continued dialogue between Lebanon and Syria would benefit both countries and expressed Ankara's readiness to help advance bilateral relations.

The Turkish president also expressed his country's willingness to participate in any force aimed at safeguarding regional security and stability, including a potential alternative force in Lebanon. Erdogan pledged continued Turkish support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, assuring that it would remain uninterrupted.

Furthermore, Erdogan condemned what he described as Israeli war crimes in Lebanon and indicated that Turkey was prepared to assist in the reconstruction of southern Lebanon.
