Farid al-boustani: In an interview with LBC’s program “Jadal,” MP Fared Al-Bustani described the recent visit of the US delegation to Lebanon as ‘serious and sensitive.’ He stated that the US is demanding immediate actions within 60 days, including disarmament, economic reforms, and ending the cash economy, warning of significant financial pressure on Lebanon.
According to National news agency – Lebanon, Al-Boustani emphasized Lebanon’s commitment to halting the “Kassam” loan program, linking it to conditions for any economic recovery plan. He highlighted the state’s efforts in tightening security and controlling borders, noting that Hezbollah currently has no presence in ports or airports. The US delegation reportedly holds detailed information on Hezbollah’s funding sources.
He stressed that disarmament is a prerequisite for any economic aid or agreements with donors and suggested negotiations should include a comprehensive solution ensuring peace for southern residents. Al-Boustani added that a successful political initiative to resolve the arms issue must involve all parties, including Iran.
