FAYYAD PARTAKES IN ENERGY MEETING VIA ZOOM

Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, represented the President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, in the activities of the “High Level Dialogue on Energy” hosted by the United Nations General Assembly.

Speaking via “Zoom”, Fayyad addressed the international community, announcing the “commitment of the Lebanese state to developing the renewable energy market in order to achieve the goal of 30% renewable energy by 2030, based on the report of the International Organization for Renewable Energy Agency.”

Fayyad stressed the “importance of renewable energy in Lebanon to find solutions to the problems of the energy sector,” noting that one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Energy and Water is to develop renewable energy projects with a capacity of more than 4000 megawatts of wind and solar energy projects.

In this context, the Minister considered that this project can only be carried out through a serious partnership between the public and private sectors in Lebanon and in partnership with Lebanon’s friends around the world.
